Biography
Matthew’s practice focuses on corporate law, commercial transactions, real property issues, and general representation of businesses and business owners. As a trusted advisor, he guides clients through complex legal challenges with strategic insight and proven experience.
In the firm’s corporate practice group, Matthew represents clients in business acquisitions and sales where he negotiates key documents including equity and asset purchase agreements, promissory notes, and security agreements. His real estate practice includes drafting and reviewing purchase and sale agreements, leases, assignments, and transfer documents where he handles commercial transactions from contract execution through closing, including title and loan document review.
Additionally, Matthew provides comprehensive corporate governance counsel to businesses ranging from startups to established companies. His experience with mergers and acquisitions, complex corporate transactions, and regulatory compliance enables him to develop tailored solutions that advance his clients’ strategic objectives while simultaneously protecting their interests.
Matthew’s litigation experience involves representing clients in commercial disputes in New York State and Federal courts, including claims for breach of contract, fiduciary duty, tortious interference, and other related causes of action. Matthew has handled all aspects of litigation from drafting and filing pleadings and motions to advocating for clients in court and alternative dispute resolution processes, consistently achieving favorable outcomes for his clients.
Matthew earned his Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law Schol, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2021. While in law school, he served as a research assistant to Professor Patrick M. Connors (New York Practice and McKinney’s Practice Commentaries on CPLR Article 31) and as the Editor in Chief of Dr. Vincent Bonventre’s Center for Judicial Process. Matthew also holds a B.A. in accounting, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany.
